What to study after SPM?

Got your SPM result already? How it is? Thinking to continue to study but still do not know what is the best option for you to choose? Worry less. In Malaysia, pretty sure that you know there are many options for you to further your study and if you do not know about it do not worry because this article will show you some options for you to continue the study. Before that, you must know that it is really great for you when you thinking to continue because there are many benefits that you can get like gain more knowledge, be more confident, and improve your discipline. Here are 4 options for you to consider to continue the study.

  1. Diploma

The duration of a diploma normally takes about 3 to 2 and a half years. The diploma basically is one level below the degree. Once you got the diploma certificate you can consider to continue to the degree or apply for a job. It is up to you. There are many courses offered for diplomas such as the Office Management course under “fakulti pengurusan dan teknologi pejabat”. The diploma is also a good move for you to get ready to confront the new world because this is a first step for you to enter adult life after graduating from high school.

  1. Foundation

Foundation is a lower foundation than a diploma. The duration for foundation normally is a year and if you plan to continue taking a degree you can take foundation. If you do not plan to continue study at all, then it is better for you to take a diploma or anything else because in Malaysia foundation is not a qualified certificate for you to apply for a job, it only can help you to take the degree faster. For example, you take the TESL foundation then you continue taking Bachelor in TESL so this means that you can save your time to take the degree. While others still struggle with Diploma in the second year you are already in the first year in Degree.

  1. STPM

Basically, Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) also known as Form 6 is a Pre-U qualification. It takes about 2 years to complete and you can consider taking STPM because it is free. You do not hear me wrong, yes it is free because you study at a public school which is under the government. If you take at the private school it will cost you around RM1000. Many people said that STPM is really hard to pass because the assessment is about 20%-40% and the rest mark you must struggle at the final exam to pass the STPM but I think that you do not to worry about that because you can do it and many of them pass the STPM. If you take STPM you do not have to worry about taking MUET because there are MUET class everyweek and pretty sure that you will have enough preparation to pass the MUET exam while in university you must study it yourself to pass it.

There are pros and cons for each option just choose that is really suitable for you and remember that this is your life and it is your decision to decide it.
